Charlene Dosson

Charlene has always enjoyed sketching, a trait inherited from her Dad.  She studied Interior Design where she gained knowledge of the use of different mediums and styles of painting. Although she learned the basics of fine art oil painting by landscape artist Johan du Toit, the rest is self-taught and motivated by her love of creating an image which hopefully captivates and moves the viewer. “I love the challenge of every piece as it develops into something I am eventually proud to share”.

This particular collection called “Behind the Scenes” is done in oil on canvas and focuses on the eyes and bone structure. She gives appreciation to the talented photographer John Kenny who has given her the thumbs up to recreate his images. John captures his images during his travels in Africa which are taken of locals in natural lighting.

Her most valued criticism and encouragement come from her ever supportive husband and two brutally honest teenage boys.
