Benjamin Furawo was born in 1983 in Zimbabwe andÂ grew up in aÂ place near Harare the capital city.Â He has been interested in art since he was young boy andÂ used to draw with different mediums e.g. charcoal, pastels etc when he was still in high school.
He was offered a bursary at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe after winning the first prize at the Pritt Annual School Art Competitions.
In 2002 heÂ became a student at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe.Â At the timeÂ Â he engaged himself in various exhibitions, workshops , art forums etc.
HeÂ really likes making sketches ofÂ what he sees everyday in theÂ African community and then painting them.Â He likes using bright colours to quickly catch the eye of the beholder.
